Programme Overview (Brief Description)
The "Innovative Farmers" training programme is a specialized module under the FMFC (Farmers, Medicines, Foods, Cosmetics) framework. This course aims to transform traditional cultivation into science-based agriculture. Participants will learn how to use precision farming techniques to improve crop quality. The programme bridges the gap between the farm and the laboratory, ensuring that agricultural raw materials meet high standards and that innovation adds value to local crops, thereby sustaining sustainability and higher profitability in the competitive global market.
Objectives

- To enhance knowledge regarding precision agriculture, innovative farming technologies, and sustainable practices suitable for the ASEAN context.
- To improve skills in cultivation management and post-harvest technology to maximize active ingredients in economic plants.
- To facilitate networking and knowledge exchange among agricultural practitioners, researchers, and entrepreneurs across ASEAN countries.
Target Participants

- The programme is designed for approximately 20 participants from ASEAN member states, comprising:
- Agricultural practitioners and "Smart Farmers" seeking to upgrade their production.
- Entrepreneurs in agribusiness and natural product industries.
- Academics and researchers in agriculture and related sciences.

- At least 20 participants from ASEAN member states successfully completed the 7-day training programme and received certificates of completion.
- A comprehensive set of training manuals and guidelines on "Precision Agriculture & Quality Control for FMFC" was distributed to all participants for future reference.
- Outcome
- Participants demonstrate a significant improvement in their understanding of precision agriculture and post-harvest technology.
- Participants are equipped to implement cost-effective technologies and GACP/Organic standards to improve the quality of their economic plants (specifically coffee and herbs).
- Establishment of an ASEAN FMFC Network among participants and experts, facilitating at least one initiated joint research discussion or business matching activity during the programme.
- Impact
- Increased economic value of agricultural products within the ASEAN region through innovation and processing.
- The widespread adoption of sustainable agricultural practices that align with the BCG Economy contributes to environmental preservation and food security in ASEAN.
